What to Expect
At Roswell Surgery Center, we’re committed to making your surgical experience as smooth, safe, and stress-free as possible. Here’s what you can expect before, during, and after your procedure:
Before Your Procedure
Pre-Operative Call
A member of our nursing team will contact you 1–2 days before your surgery to review instructions, answer questions, and confirm your arrival time.
Fasting Instructions
You will be given specific guidelines on when to stop eating and drinking prior to your surgery. This is important for your safety during anesthesia.
Medications
Please inform us of all medications you’re taking. Our team will let you know which ones to continue or pause before surgery.
Transportation
If you are receiving sedation or anesthesia, you must arrange for a responsible adult to drive you home and stay with you for the first 24 hours.
Day of Surgery
Arrival & Check-In
Arrive at the designated time and check in at the front desk. Please bring a valid photo ID, insurance card, and any required paperwork.
Preparation
After check-in, our pre-op nurses will help you prepare for your procedure, answer any last-minute questions, and ensure you’re comfortable.
Meeting the Team
You’ll meet your surgical team, including your surgeon and anesthesiologist, who will go over the procedure and ensure you feel at ease.
After Your Procedure
Recovery
You will be moved to a recovery area where our team will monitor you closely. Most patients stay for a short period before being discharged the same day.
Post-Operative Instructions
You’ll receive written and verbal instructions on how to care for yourself at home, including guidance on medications, wound care, activity levels, and follow-up appointments.
Follow-Up
Your surgeon will schedule a follow-up visit to check your progress and recovery. If you have questions after your procedure, our team is just a phone call away.
